Meet Dr. Shamus Cooper
Dr. Shamus Cooper has called North Carolina home since he was three months old, growing up in the small town of Archdale before heading to Davidson College and then the UNC Adams School of Dentistry. It was during dental school that he discovered a genuine love for pediatric dentistry, and he has built his career around that passion ever since.
Dr. Cooper practices across every All Kids Pediatric Dentistry location and joins the team in the operating room whenever a child needs treatment under anesthesia, so families may meet him at more than one of our Charlotte-area offices. He is board certified and is committed to providing the best evidence-based pediatric dental care to every patient who sits in his chair.
Dr. Shamus Cooper joined the All Kids Pediatric Dentistry team after completing a hospital-based residency in pediatric dentistry, giving him hands-on experience caring for children in both the clinic and the operating room. Originally from Buffalo, New York, he moved to Archdale, North Carolina at just three months old and considers the Charlotte area home.

Dr. Cooper's Education and Training
Dr. Cooper’s path to pediatric dentistry combined a strong science foundation with hands-on clinical training.

- Pediatric Dentistry Residency — Indiana University School of Dentistry / Riley Hospital for Children (2024)
Before dental school, he spent two years working in a research lab at the UNC School of Medicine, and it was during his time at UNC that he discovered his passion for treating children. He is board certified and stays current through ongoing pediatric dental education.
Making Dentistry Fun for Every Child
Dr. Cooper believes some of the best parts of pediatric dentistry are the conversations along the way. He loves talking with young patients about superheroes, dinosaurs, and princesses, and that playful connection helps kids feel comfortable in the chair. His goal for every visit is the same: provide the best evidence-based pediatric dental care while keeping the experience calm, and even fun. Because he practices across every All Kids Pediatric Dentistry location, families may see him at more than one of our offices over the years.

Outside the Office
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Cooper is likely spending time with his four dogs — Leo, Patton, Kaiden, and Onyx — traveling, trying new restaurants, or relaxing by a pool, lake, or the ocean. A self-described fan of fall and all things pumpkin (except pumpkin pie), his favorite place to visit is Amsterdam, and his go-to restaurant in Charlotte is Mi Carino. That same easygoing enthusiasm carries right into the exam room.
